Does eating make you happy or is it simply a misdirected craving?

This post is in response to this post.  A long time ago I read a blog post somewhere that wanting to eat something sweet is just the craving and it has got nothing to do with your requirement to consume sugar.  I totally agree.  Your body does need sugar but it gets this sugar from lots of things to eat like fruits and vegetables (even when you consume tea your consuming sugar along with it).  That particular blog post talked about letting the craving die a slow death.  This means whenever you find something sweet irresistible take a bite and then forget about the thing for at least 20 minutes.  You will find that after those 20 minutes the craving lasts no longer. This is totally true that I have experienced it myself.

The same goes for food.  Whenever you want to eat something too badly have smaller bites and chew the food as much as possible. You will always end up eating less.
