Weight Loss Slows On Weekends

We feel relaxed on holidays and relax our weight loss plan too during holidays. But researchers at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis find out that we are inclined to put on more weight during weekends and Saturday is the worst day for our weighing scales.

"We thought weekends would present a problem for some people attempting to lose weight, but the consistency of our finding before and during the interventions was surprising," says first author Susan B. Racette, Ph.D., assistant professor of physical therapy and of medicine. "Subjects in the diet group lost weight during the week, but over the weekend, they stopped losing weight because they were eating more."

Study findings recommend that we should avoid eating indiscriminately on weekends. It is advised, if you are attending kids school games, pack a light lunch instead of eating junk food at the concession stall. If you are attending a party eat something so that you are not that ravenous when you reach at the party. If you are doing household chores avoid binging. For more details read here.
